Remote properties nobody happens to check

Down East houses sit far apart, often at the end of a private drive with marsh on three sides. Nobody notices a downed limb, an open gate or a running toilet unless somebody is assigned to look. That isolation is the whole reason for a home watch schedule here rather than a favor from a neighbor.

Flooding, wind and the road out

Sound-side flooding on the Down East roads can cut access for a day or more, and the last mile is usually the first to go. We stage storm prep early because we know which stretches close, and we get back in for the post-storm inspection as soon as the water drops — with photographs, before anything is moved or cleaned up.

Boats, skiffs and working waterfront

Nearly every property down here has a skiff, a lift, a ramp or a dock in the mix. We check lines, batteries, covers, cables and pilings the same way we check the house, and we coordinate hauling, service techs and shop storage through our own facility on Island Road.
